Liquid Music
“So, my life is in your hands” , I said to erty, who was my buddy for my first dive in the open indian ocean around Dar-es-salam… she said, “don’t worry, in best case, you will die hearing liquid music all around you…” And so it was….a liquid musical world in bluescope, all around me…. though i survived the bliss…
The whole episode started on a light conversation with erio and her daughter and I saw my impulsive instincts seeing myself nodding in approval even before my rational self started to think…. my sister was wining over me of doing this first somewhere in Australia and i was looking for settling the score for sometime and that perhaps triggered the whole thing…
It was a bit of a struggle to reach to this level. Alot of theory , dive videos and pool dive sessions before reaching to this stage where i still have to do four dives to pass the exams.
I was just repeating the words B.W.R.A.F (“Body, weights, release, air, final check”which dorthy made it easier to remember by saying “Blonde.Woman.Really.Air.Fun” ) when i heard the motor boat’s engine getting silent and in no time we were in a new world full of blue music all around.
A blue world trying to familiarize herself to me, and i flying in that world which has totally different rules of physics and gravity….. flying up with a deep breath, and touching grounds if i stop to breathe and some unseen force like wind moving me left and right…. the color blue dissolving her soft watery fingers into me , feeling me, touching me with utmost curiosity and care, reminding me of some past watery curious fingers i knew …. the inhabitants of that world, the small colored fishes, the beautiful big corals, simply ignoring us and busy in their free flying dance…. All that was enough for me to feel connected with this unknown world in no time… all like a dream… all like a life on moon not in b/w but in bluescope color…… all simply amazing and realistically magical and happening to me in present tense…… it was a magical world of colors and whispering liquid music and like a dream it finished when my dive instructor woke me up showing its time to head back to reality.
Next stop! zanzibar island with the dolphins and with the whales if i am lucky. They say the whales pass by Tanzania in july/august. But at the same time I am thinking now, i have jumped from the plane, gone deep into the water, have touched some mountain peaks, seen lions meters away, and now what is left to keep me alive, keeps me busy, keeps me forgetting the heaviness of my being?????????
